Uncovering the hidden job market, part 2
Can’t seem to find a job? Well, maybe you are looking in the wrong places.
Eighty percent of jobs are NOT posted in job boards or in newspaper classifieds, according to a survey of HR managers last year (read about it here, at CNN.com). This is “the hidden job market.”
In part 2 of “Uncovering the Hidden Job Market,” NYU-SCPS adjunct Nancy Ancowitz and the career experts dive in deeper, indentifying for job seekers how to begin discovering what and where these hidden jobs are.
On the panel were NYU-SCPS adjunct instructor and career coach Pamela Skillings; Corcoran Group HR director Rose Scalia; P3HRConsulting founder Shawn Slevin; Vault.com audience development manager Missa Goehring; and Linkedin’s Brian Tietje (who you met in Part 1, HERE).
A bit more about Nancy Ancowitz: she’s a business communications coach and longtime adjunct professor in the NYU-SCPS career management and development programs. A self-described introvert, she’s the author of Self-Promotion for Introverts.
