Career tips for new college grads from NYU-SCPS career expert Hellmann
June 29, 2010
It’s summer, and the Class of 2010 has entered the workforce. NYU-SCPS career expert Rob Hellmann offers these useful, timely career tips for new college grads in a recent interview with ABC News:
- Before looking for a career, look inward and do some self-assessment.
- Develop a vision for your life — 10,20, even 40 years in the future; this will change, but at least it’s a working plan.
- Determine what your work-related values are — whether it’s to work alone, or with lots of people; to have a flexible schedule; or the amount of money you wish to earn.
- Then, put this on paper and use this list to begin identifying the types of jobs and careers you should pursue.
For more tips, watch Rob’s ABC interview or read his website for further advice.
