According to news sources, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in cooperation with Pure Italian, LLC, announced the voluntary recall of the company’s Bio Gaudiano Organic Olives Stuffed with Almonds because of their potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum. This bacteria may result in botulism, a common cause of food poisoning across the country. The FDA has received one report of two individuals having to be hospitalized for botulism after consuming the stuffed olives with almonds. The firm and the FDA are asking that consumers not consume this product even if it does not appear to be spoiled or bad.
